MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE LAUNCHES “MIGHTY OAK AWARD” TO RECOGNIZE TEACHERS AND STAFF
Millstone TOWNSHIP, NJ, November 17, 2011 – Millstone Township Foundation for Educational Excellence (MTFEE)—a non-profit organization devoted to funding extraordinary educational experiences for Millstone’s public school students—announces the launch of its “Mighty Oak Award.” The recognition program, which will run throughout the school year, will give parents and guardians the opportunity to send a Millstone Township teacher or staff member a “Mighty Oak Award” certificate to show them how much he or she means/has meant to their child. When families make a minimum donation of $10, MTFEE will send each of the honorees a “Mighty Oak Award” certificate. The certificate will include MTFEE’s new branding, date, sender’s and recipient’s names, as well as a special message. The amount of the gift will not be disclosed. “MTFEE is excited to introduce the ‘Mighty Oak Award’ program,” said Nicole Pyhel, president and information officer for MTFEE. “It’s a great way for parents, guardians and students to show a special teacher or staff member just how terrific they think he or she is. At the same time, the donations will help fund innovative and exciting classroom programs; educational opportunities; staff development; and state-of-the-art teaching materials that are beyond the scope of the general school budget.” The foundation is proud to have awarded more than $ 410,000 in grants to Millstone Township public schools, to date. MTFEE grants, which have been awarded at every grade level and in every discipline, have ranged from small—for a few hundred dollars—to larger ones such as Smart Boards, Mobile Computer Labs, and most recently iPads. Every child that matriculates through the school district will in some way benefit from an MTFEE funded grant.
